Yellow Finch

$200.00

“Yellow Finch” Original Acrylic Bird Painting on Canvas by Nathan J. Taylor. 8 inches X 10 inches, 100% cotton canvas wrapped around a solid wood frame.

The yellow finch is a small songbird that is found in North America. It is a member of the finch family, which includes other birds such as the house finch and the purple finch. The yellow finch is most easily identified by its bright yellow plumage, which covers its body, wings, and tail. In addition to its distinctive colouration, the yellow finch also has a black “teardrop” mark on its face. Male and female yellow finches are similar in appearance, although females tend to be slightly smaller than males. Yellow finches typically measure between 4 and 5 inches in length and have a wingspan of between 6 and 7 inches. They are relatively small birds, but they are still larger than some of the other Finch family members such as the crimson-collared grosbeak. Yellow finches mostly eat seeds, but they will also consume insects if they are available. They typically build their nests in trees or shrubs, using twigs, grasses, and other plant material to construct a cup-shaped structure.
